The Ministry for the Environment in conjunction with the Ngatiwai Trust Board and the New Zealand Planning Institute, ran three one-day implementation workshops on 24, 25, and 26 June 2008 in Orewa, Kaikohe and Whangarei, respectively.
Workshops were also held in Queenstown and Invercargill in April 2008 to support the implementation of Te Tangi a Tauira – The Cry of the People - Ngāi Tahu ki Murihiku Natural Resource and Environmental Management Plan 2008. Around 60 participants attended the workshops.
Three workshops were also held in May 2006 in Queenstown, Dunedin, and Kaikoura, with over 70 participants. The workshops looked at the effectiveness of iwi management plans under the RMA and focussed on two recently released iwi management plans from Ngāi Tahu Papatipu Rūnanga - Te Rūnanga o Kaikōura and Kāi Tahu ki Otago (made up of the four Papatipu Rūnanga of Otago).
