Air Pollution Control Training Programme

These workshops are designed to provide air pollution control expertise to regional council resource consents and compliance officers. The workshop will assist with understanding:

  • basic concepts of the atmospheric environment and sources of atmospheric pollution
  • basic concepts of atmospheric modeling and application, including approved dispersion modeling techniques such as Calpuff, Ausplume, TAPM
  • basic air pollution control technologies
  • how to implement National Environmental Standards and Regional Air Plans when processing resource consent applications for discharges to air
  • assessment of resource consent applications for discharges to air
  • the setting of practical consent conditions
  • basic air quality monitoring techniques
  • the interpretation of monitoring results.
