Guidelines for the Management and Handling of Used Oil
December 2000, Ref. ME355
The guidelines provide guidance to used oil generators, collectors, transporters, re-refiners and end users and regulatory authorities on the formulation of used oil management strategies. They are intended to complement and be read in conjunction with the Dangerous Goods Act 1974 and its Regulations, the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992, and the Resource Management Act 1991. The guidelines do not replace or supersede any legislative requirements, but they do provide additional guidance on how workplace health and safety and the broader environment can be protected from the hazards of used oil.
