Environmental Performance Indicators: Marine environment potential indicators for physical and chemical processes, and human uses and values

This report provides technical detail for some of the indicators for the marine environment. The marine environment encompasses three of the original strands of the EPI programme: coasts and estuaries, marine biodiversity and fisheries. These strands were merged to promote an ecosystem approach to developing indicators for the marine environment. However, the technical reports were commissioned before the merge was implemented. Consequently, the technical details of the indicators are provided in documents that reflect the original strand divisions. The final discussion document will report the indicators for the marine environment as an integrated set.
