A pilot survey linking stage 1 state and pressure indicators in Bay of Plenty

June 1998, Ref. TR28

This report attempts to plug the information gap between indicators for soil health and those for soil intactness. Environment Bay of Plenty (EnvBoP) had recently completed a reclassification of land units in their region to provide improved information about erosion susceptibility. The reclassification and mapping provided an opportunity to identify suitable sites and test the three proposed stage 1 soil health indicators on soils under differing land-use pressures and in different erosion classes which is the objective of this report.
