Monitoring and Data Management Protocol: Environmental Indicators for Transport

This Protocol provides clear methodology for how to collect and report data at a local level for the indicators:

  • Vehicle Fleet Composition
  • Travel Activity
  • Travel Time
  • Mode of Journey to Work.

The methodology can be used by local government, environmental managers and road controlling authority managers for the collection and reporting of transport data. The indicators were developed with assistance from a Transport Indicators Focus Group comprising of experts from regional councils, central government agencies, academia and private sector consultants.
