National Policy Statement for Freshwater Management 2011: Implementation Guide
This guide is designed to provide background information and commentary on the intent of the National Policy Statement for Freshwater Management 2011, and help local authorities in considering how the key messages, concepts and directions should be implemented.
The guide is a living document that will be updated as both policy and good practice develop.
Corrections to guidance
- Page 6: Correction to reflect that section 62(3) of the RMA requires regional policy statements (RPS) to give effect to a NPS.
- Pages 43 and 44: Correction to reflect that Policy E1 of the NPS requires formal adoption of a staged implementation plan by 12 November 2012.
