Quantification of Air Quality Co–Benefits from Climate Change Mitigation Measures
April 2008, Ref. CR38
This technical report examines a range of possible measures for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and assesses potential co-benefits and co-costs through changed public health effects and costs through changed air pollution emissions. The analysis puts a dollar value on air pollution emissions from activities producing CO2 (other greenhouses gases have little or no air quality impacts). It focuses on how energy use in three main sectors – domestic, vehicle, and industry – affects health costs in New Zealand.
