Proposed National Policy Statement on Indigenous Biodiversity Summary of Submissions
In January 2011 the Ministry for the Environment notified the proposed National Policy Statement (NPS) on Indigenous Biodiversity under the Resource Management Act 1991 (RMA). An NPS is a tool under the RMA that provides statutory guidance to decision-makers. Its purpose is to state objectives and policies on matters of national significance.
Submissions closed on 2 May 2011. A total of 426 submissions were received. This document summarises the submissions received, and presents the main issues and themes raised in the submissions.
