Global Environmental Monitoring System (GEMS) - Annual Reports
From July 2011, the Ministry will no longer monitor air quality at the three GEMS sites. The 2010 annual report and the 2011 six monthly report will be the last reports published in this series.
Regional councils and unitary authorities will continue to monitor and report on air quality in their regions. Local air quality information is available on your council’s website or by contacting them. The Ministry will continue to summarise this information and report it on our air quality environmental reporting web pages.
The Ministry is developing an air quality monitoring programme focusing on pollutants that are not widely monitored. This programme is scheduled to be implemented in 2012 with results being published annually on the Ministry’s website.
