Foreshore and seabed

The Foreshore and Seabed Act 2004 and the Resource Management (Foreshore and Seabed) Amendment Act 2004 were enacted in November 2004. A question and answer sheet on the changes arising from the Foreshore and Seabed Act and the Resource Management (Foreshore and Seabed) Amendment Act 2004 has been developed from questions raised at the workshops with local government practitioners.

What it means for local government

The Resource Management (Foreshore and Seabed) Amendment Act 2004 brochure is designed as a guide for council and resource management practitioners to explain changes to the Resource Management Act 1991 as a result of the Resource Management (Foreshore and Seabed) Amendment Act 2004 and the Foreshore and Seabed Act 2004.

A presentation on the Resource Management (Foreshore and Seabed) Amendment Act 2004 was made at several workshops for local authority practitioners in January and February 2005.
